Just days after Magic Johnson announced the formation of his new management company, Boyz II Men, one of the music artists that was said to have allied with the former NBA star, has come forward to say it's not joining Magic's team.

In a statement released late Thursday, the group's Nathan Morris said "that Boyz II Men have not met with Magic Johnson, have had no discussions with Magic Johnson, have not signed any deals with Magic Johnson, nor is our management forming an alliance with Magic Johnson Management."

Boyz II Men's once and future management company, Southpaw Entertainment, attributes the confusion to an erroneous report issued Monday from Magic Johnson Music following Johnson's appearance at last week's Soul Train Music Awards (see "Mase, Kelly Price And Boyz II Men Ink Management Deal With Magic Johnson").

Boyz II Men are currently huddled in a studio working on a new record, the much-anticipated follow-up to 1997's "Evolution."
